Green Tourism Gold award
Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Barnwell Farm self catering cottages are nestled in the heart of the Ards peninsula, one mile from Strangford lough and 2 miles from the sandy beaches of the Irish sea coast.
Our seven 4 star cottages are protected from the noise and bustle of everyday life. We have developed farm trails that explore all the best places to see wildlife, including a bird hide, badger hide.
Our aim is to provide home-from-home comfortable self catering accommodation from which our guests can enjoy their holiday.
Located in a rural farming environment we have always been conscious of the our activities and how they might impact on our surroundings. Joining the Green Tourism initiave has enabled us use and focus from a ready made framework relevant to all our activities that have an environmental impact from small things like the use of led light bulbs to bigger issues like recycling.
By implementing many of these, we are delighted to have gained the Gold award for Green Tourism. This will enable us to highlight our “Green Credentials” when marketing Barnwell Farm Cottages.
